Configurations

Configurations are the higher-order structures three or more planets can form, in three families. (1) Named aspect patterns — Grand Trine, T-Square, Grand Cross, Yod, Kite, Mystic Rectangle, Stellium and others. (2) Dispositorship — chains that link each planet to the ruler of the sign it occupies, terminating in self-rulers or closing into loops. (3) Mutual reception — two planets in each other's signs (or in each other's exaltation, triplicity, or term for stronger forms). Read configurations before drilling into individual two-body aspects to catch the chart's macro signature. The narrower term 'Aspect Patterns' covers (1) alone.

Configurations reveal a chart's shape of motion. Grand Trines suggest flow; reception bonds suggest codependence; long unbroken dispositorship chains terminate at a 'king planet' where destiny converges. The view complements (rather than replaces) detailed aspect reading.
