What is Tuhap (Jealousy Combination)?
Tuhap means 'jealous combination' and occurs when two identical stems attempt to combine with one partner stem. For example, if two Gap (Wood) stems both try to combine with one Gi (Earth) stem, the combination is contested—neither fully completes. This creates a dynamic of rivalry, competition, and blocked harmonization. The jealousy metaphor extends to relationships where triangular dynamics emerge.
