What is Besiegement?
Besiegement occurs when a planet is sandwiched between the two traditional malefics—Mars and Saturn—by zodiacal degree, regardless of sign boundaries. The besieged planet receives the difficult influence of both malefics simultaneously: Saturn's restriction and delay from one side, Mars's aggression and conflict from the other. This creates a sense of being trapped or pressured in the areas signified by the besieged planet. Besiegement by benefics (Jupiter and Venus) produces the opposite—exceptional support.
